A cat seen on a road led many people to meet and change their lives that night.

On the night of January 10, Greenpoint Cats received an urgent email on a stranded cat on a road, needing help desperately.
Greenpoint Cats and Puppykittynycity volunteers responded quickly and rushed to the scene. “Most likely, the kitten has crouched in the engine or the cube of the wheel of a car and then jumped to the worst possible place,” Greenpoint Cats shared.
When the young cat tried to escape occupied traffic, he realized that he had nowhere to go and cling to the side of the road for my dear life.
Soon, many arrived with networks, carriers and sheets. “The volunteers together with NYPD appeared to rescue her from the road and catch her if she fell,” Alyssa shared, a Foster volunteer with Puppykittynycity.
The kitten was so scared that it remained in the same place, without moving an inch.
“The kitten had been perched there for hours with traffic that passed by one side and a fall of more than 50 feet on the other (in more traffic). It was terrifying witness and obviously even more scary for the kitten,” Greenpoint Cats added.
They devised a plan for a person to convince the road cat, while the others had a large sheet underneath, ready to catch it if necessary.
“With the volunteers who stopped the traffic to form a security network below, the officer Hernández (a cat of Cat himself) was able to take a carrier to the kitten.”
Approximately an hour after receiving email, the kitten, called Perry, was safely off the road. “Surely he was lucky to be seen in such a scary place and that everyone went out to save it,” Alyssa added.
Perry was understandably scared after the heartbreaking experience. Finally it allowed one of the volunteers to stroke it briefly. They knew that with time and patience, she would come.
Alyssa welcomed Perry to his reception home and established a cozy space where he could decompress and begin to socialize.
After a good night, Perry was remarkably less Hispecia and defensive. Although he is still skeptical about humans, he finally warmed himself for treats. “You can see what he loves. It’s a promising beginning.”
Alyssa spoke to him gently, offering many slow flickers to assure him that he wanted to say well.
He took it easy with Perry and introduced gently stroking with a backscratcher. “I keep doing this several times a day for short periods. She is out of her bucket and feels a little more comfortable.”
The fear in his eyes began to fade when he realized that his adoptive mother always came with food. “She comes and adjusts slowly, thanks to the treats.”
“He is still learning about toys and sees me to play with other cats. He appears to like pets and scratches of the chin, but only in his cache. Sometimes, she sisee just after it seems to enjoy it, as if he remembers that he needs to be distrustful of his hands.”
“Then it is repetition, consistency and patience with sweets and caresses.”
“He has also shown interest in the kittens that visit her, and you can listen to her little squeak while calling them.”
A town is needed to save a cat. Now, Perry is becoming her cozy inner life with feline friends to help her gain confidence and a dedicated adoptive mother who claims to have a brilliant future.
