Passes for Wednesday: Olivia turns four today

Four years ago (in 2020, during a worldwide pandemic) Olivia was born under a house in the Los Angeles area. When he had about six or seven weeks, he was trapped with other kittens, possibly his brothers, and transported to resqcats in Santa Barbara to be treated and luckily adopt.

Jeffyne, who runs resqcats, knew we had I just lost Lily and we wanted to make a home for another need, so she sent us a photo of Olivia. How could we resist that inclination of the head? That year there were no visiting kittens to see if there was any feeling of warm Fuzzy between you and a cat or kitten. We had to make our decision on that image and said: “Yes.”

However, before we could bring her home, her brothers fell with Tiña, which meant that she also had to be treated. So they spent a couple more weeks before we could formally meet the kitten called Olivia.

Finally the day came. You create it or not the exchange took place in a parking lot (of local human society). Olivia (who came with that name) had just been sterilized and left the fog. We looked at the holes in the carrier, confirmed our original decision and that day we brought Olivia home.

It is not necessary to say that it was an adequate slice for our home, which included a human mother and dad and an old cake called Sophie.

Olivia was naturally scared and insecure at the beginning, but I think our patience with her and Sophie’s presence helped her hump and quickly became an active part of the family.

Today, Olivia is a single cat that is very dear and disguised and is the star of my second cozy series of mysteries of cats, The Calico Cat Mysteries. Book 20 of Calico Cat’s mysteries will be launched in a few days. So be attentive to the ad. And, by the way, happy birthday Miss Crossy-Paws, Fluffy-Butt, beautiful Olivia. We adore you and the way you love us.
