Earlier this month, Garden, a beautiful calic cat, found himself in a shelter of animals, very pregnant.

The day after he arrived, he gave birth to six kittens and desperately needed a host house. Best Friends Animal Society (in Los Angeles) intervened to help, giving the family of seven the opportunity to prosper.

“Garden was sweet and trusted on the first day with me. She let me caress and brush her,” Jan, the adoptive mother, shared with Love Meow.

Garden felt relieved to escape the stress and noise of the shelter for a quiet and cozy space to raise his young. Taking care of six kittens is not an easy task, but this time I didn’t have to do it alone.

The kittens (Glisten, Glimmer, Glow, Geranium, Golden Poppy and Grove) were located against their affectionate mother who kept them nourished and clean.

Jan looked for the mother’s signs to make sure she felt comfortable with her kitten handling. “I took it easy, but she seemed to have no problem to pick me up to weigh the second day (then they had three days).”

The six kittens were gums and healthy, a true testimony of their mother’s dedication.

“It made a big difference that she gave birth in a warm and clean shelter instead of outside.”

Garden moved from the carrier to a larger nest prepared for her. He settled in the soft blankets with his babies located by his side, snorking with the approval. Every time he needed a break, he turned to his adoptive mother for affection.

He tried his first gift from his adoptive mother and swallowed him anxiously. “At first, I wasn’t sure how to eat it, but after he bit him and crushed a lot of the sweets in his mouth, he loved it.”

With two girls and four boys, Garden had full legs.

“Six babies are many mouths to feed, but Garden seems not to matter. I can say that he likes to help me go to the bathroom. Usually, a break is taken after cleaning after one or two. I don’t mind helping her: babies, babies are a lot.”

A few days later, the kittens began to open their eyes and see the world for the first time.

Golden Poppy (House Panther) was the first to take a look, assuming the world, and soon, his brothers followed him. “The kittens generally begin to open their eyes between 8 and 10 days of age, so this child is an early flowering.”

Even during breaks, Garden watches his kittens. “She always stays close and will go to them when they start crying. He will make a loving partner for someone when she has finished taking care of her little ones (her last litter).”

The kittens have become small and small role poles. With complete bellies, they sleep deeply and wake up with renewed energy.

“I encourage others to be volunteers to foster a mother and babies cat. The garden and its outbreaks have been one of the easiest promotion experiences that I have had in more than five years of fostering. Mom does most of the work. I simply check it, the food and we weigh the babies daily to make sure they are growing.”

Glimmer can be the smallest, but he has a great voice and a determined spirit, always claiming the first place of nursing.

At three weeks old, kittens are finding their balance, strengthening their legs and increasingly curious about their surroundings. Soon they will venture beyond their nest to explore and play.

“Garden let their babies climb all their backs and feed under their belly, even while trying to have a time to eat.”

Thanks to many compassionate volunteers, this beautiful family has found a second chance. Garden is delighted to have an adoptive loving mother, supporting her and make sure her kittens become large and strong.

As we started Julio and the national month for identification of pets, it is time to talk about something that every cat’s father needs to hear: his feline friend needs adequate identification, and no, his gaze of judgment is not enough to take them home safely.

While dogs have long been the poster of ID ID campaigns, our mustache companions face unique challenges when it comes to identification and return home.

The people of good heart helped a young cat recover the use of their leg and then saw him return to his account before his eyes.

Baker, an orange attempt, reached the best friends of Fellines (a rescue of cats), waiting for a better life.

Surprisingly, he had managed to survive with a severely injured leg for long before he was rescued. “They believe it is an old rest, and although it is not known much about their past, there seems to be no broken spirit,” the best felines shared.

The rescue believed that it would need surgery to fix their broken leg, but they knew that the kitten had other plans.
